Pricing
of ordinary translation services is based on a fixed price
per word.
Following
receipt of the document to be translated we will upon request
provide a price estimate. If the estimate is accepted by the
customer, this overall price is binding on us. A binding deadline
for completing the translation will normally by agreed at
this stage.
Other
services are invoiced at a fixed hourly rate. This also applies
to amendments to texts which have been translated previously
as well as to amendments to texts which are currently being
translated.
Submission
of source text in electronic format will ensure that the translation
reflects the original in terms of layout, font specification,
tables, etcetera. If instead we only receive a hardcopy any
required reconstruction of tables and diagrams will be charged
separately at a fixed hourly rate.
An overall
price and deadline may of course be agreed for such additional
work as well.
The finalised
product will be distributed to customers by e-mail, fax and/or
disc/hardcopy sent by courier or by ordinary mail. All documents
are scanned for viruses prior to distribution, and encrypted
electronic distribution can be arranged if required.
We are
required to observe professional secrecy respecting all instructions,
including secrecy as to the existence of an instruction.
Most communications
between ourselves and our customers take place electronically,
supplemented by phone and fax. It may, however, occasionally
be desirable or even necessary to have a meeting. As we are
based in Spain we will in order to facilitate such meetings
not charge for time spent travelling, but only invoice actual
travelling expenses.
All communications
via phone, fax, e-mail and ordinary mail are included in our
prices, whilst any use of couriers will be charged at cost.
Our prices also include other direct and indirect operational
expenses, but we reserve the right to charge at cost for scanning,
copying, printing, and binding of unusually large amounts
of documentation.
Our services
are not subject to VAT for customers based in the United Kingdom,
provided that the customers are registered for UK VAT. Translation
services are subject to VAT in Spain, much as in the United
Kingdom, but services rendered to VAT-registered businesses
based outside Spain are exempted from Spanish VAT. UK VAT
is not charged as our business is not subject to UK VAT-regulations
due to it operating outside the United Kingdom.
The payment
deadline is three weeks from the date of our invoice. Payment
can be made by direct transfer to our UK bank account, or
alternatively by cheque drawn on a UK bank. Those of our customers
based in the United Kingdom will be invoiced in pound sterling,
unless they prefer invoicing in euro or Norwegian crowns.
